Welcome
Copland is the award-winning studio of piano teacher, Dr. Steven Brundage. Located near the North Main neighborhood of downtown Greenville, S.C., Steven offers piano lessons to committed pianists ages 5 to 18. His students are competition-winning at NFMC and state SCMTA festivals. Brundage earned his doctor of musical arts degree in piano pedagogy from the University of South Carolina, is the principal pianist for Greenville Youth Chorale, and leads European musical tours for students, teachers, and families through Young Artists Abroad.
About
Dr. Brundage teaches home-educated and traditionally schooled families. His students perform in three annual recitals (October, December, & May) and in competitions each spring. Steven's teaching approach prioritizes independence in music reading, mature expressivity, and technical mastery. Repertoire predominantly focuses on method book for beginners and classical repertoire for intermediate and advanced students. Students practice scales and chords early in their training, and leadsheet, hymn and worship song playing is offered.
